It was very informative regarding social workers’ role in a long-term care facility. It always fascinates me all the different roles you can obtain in social work. I learned that assisted living facilities are there for complex healthcare needs. The support that the elderly feel at this facility seems to be very good. Does Westminster Manor act like other assisted living centers that organize activities for their residents? Also, what type of complex health issues do they have? The social worker you interviewed enjoys her role of helping others find comfort in the next stage of their lives. In her role, she performs every day the ethic of service. NASW (2021) states that serving others in need above personal self-interest to provide them with the help they need.
